Free Poser scene giveaway: sample materials, Ix's skin and my Superfly setup

Someone mentioned on the previous blog post that it'd be cool to have a screenshot of my render settings. Rather than do that and have 200 people painstakingly trying to reproduce how I did that, I've just setup a generic Poser scene with all the settings baked in. Yum!

Download here >>>>
(zip link is at the top)

I've set Pixel samples at 7, which gives the slightly grainy result on the left. For higher quality, just up that to 10 or 20 or whatever - depends how much time you've got :)

You'll also notice I've added a Runtime entry for all of Ix's skin. Save you setting that up with subsurface etc; you just need to get hold of the RM Bianca textures (RM is short for RebelMommy; you can't miss it), then you can apply the materials settings in materials room and *ping* it'll all work on any V4 character.

Lighting: You'll see the scene has 2 area lights setup. Area lights are the real trick to real-looking renders; ditch spotlights/infinite/point lights etc. Plonk a model in front of those badboys and hey presto! You'll just maybe need to play with the intensity of the lights and HDRI (see props > HDRI sphere in the materials room; play with emission strength to get more/less HDR lighting involved) to work with whatever model you've got in place. I've been playing with the (free) HDRI from hdrihaven.com - but the scene given away here just uses one which I think is bundled with Poser anyway. It's in the zip either way; pretty sure it was a public domain HDR so distribution like this should be fine.

On making an Ix: I'll probably bundle that character up soon too (update: I did, it's included in the zip linked at the top), so if you want to make your own, in the meantime you could just get hold of: RM Bianca textures, Daz V4 base model, GND4 by Blackhearted, Lex for V4, and the V4 Morphs ++. Hair is Messy Jessie; I think it's a Kozaburo hair prop?
